Changes at the Chicago Chinese Language Meetup Group

I haven't written about the Chicago Chinese Language Meetup Group in a few months. We've been doing well, with more members, a summer of great meetings at Foster Avenue Beach, and outings to see the Sox and Cirque Shanghai. After a year as organizer, I handed off in July to Jim Galvin, but I continue to be involved in planning and promoting our gatherings.

Sister Cities China Web Site

The last few months, I've been pretty busy revising the Web site for the China Committee of Chicago's Sister Cities International Program. I've been a committee member since March of 2005 and was recently asked by Committee Co-Chair Bill Spence to lead this effort.

Working on the Web site is a great way to get an overview of the committee and its projects, and I'm working with some great collaborators: Joe Scarry of Chicago IP Management; Jim Muldoon of the Center for Global Change and Governance at Rutgers University-Newark; and Chase Hendrix of Adaptive Easel, our Web developer.
